Election Day is Tuesday, June 2, 2026

New this year, voters registered as Independent or Declined to State can vote in Democratic or Republican primaries.

Register to Vote

You can register to vote online here until May 5. Afterwards, Same Day Registration (SDR) opens at all Early or Election Day voting locations. Please bring proper ID to update your voter registration or to register to vote. Bring a photo ID and a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, student identification card or other government document, including identification issued by an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo that shows your name and current address.

Absentee Voting by MailTuesday, May 16—Tuesday, May 30You can request an absentee ballot now! It is easy to request your absentee ballot online. Ballots will be mailed out beginning on May 5. You can track the status of your absentee ballot here. 

Returning your absentee ballot is also easy. You can:

  • Return your ballot by mail, using the pre-paid return envelope.

  • Hand deliver your absentee ballot to any Early or Election Day polling site beginning May 16 through election day on June 2. 

  • Drop off your ballot at one of two locations, found here.

On Tuesday, May 5, you can vote In-Person (Absentee) at the Sandoval County Admin Building at 1500 Idalia Road, Bernalillo, NM 87004 (Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm until May 15). This then becomes an Early Voting location, Saturday, May 16-Saturday, May 30 (10am-7pm).The last day to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you is on Tuesday, May 19. All completed absentee ballots must be received by 7pm on election day, June 2. If you still have your absentee ballot on May 29, we strongly encourage you to hand deliver your ballot to a Voting Convenience Center rather than mail it.

There are 22 Early Voting Convenience Centers in Sandoval County. Most Early Voting centers are open from Monday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm. All Early Voting Locations can be found here.
